DJ set Framework Freepack

Hello fellow Ableton enthusiasts. One of the unique selling points of Ableton is that the session view can be utilised to create an ideal DJ environment, however, this can take time to set up. For this reason I have created a framework based on a 4 deck DJ set up. Each “deck” (audio track) is equipped with a macroed beat repeat, a low-pass filter, a high-pass filter and a ping pond delay. The decks are broken into left and right for the sake of adding a cross fader.

I use this as a beginning to most of my D'n'B or Dubstep sets, using midi controllers mapped to the effects and I usually add more tracks with atmospheric samples, drum loops and vocal hits but that all spawns from this framework which I have found most useful.

I hope that you can utilise this freepack and expand on its current features.

Freepacks Introduction

Hello, and welcome to the Ableton freepacks blog, newly founded and here to make packs for your Ableton pleasure, the brainchild of me, Benjamin Young, a bedroom DJ and producer from the UK and an avid user of Ableton, however, I do not claim to be a musical production guru.

I am merely looking to share the knowledge I have gained and save newcomers time and effort by creating frameworks to expand on. As we all know, there is a lot of time that goes into the preparation of any live set, I am looking to make this easier for you to get right to work creating a DJ set or getting into a jam session with your musical comrades.

Keep an eye on this blog for all my free downloads of Ableton live packs created by me and my colleagues here at freepacks. We promise to use only the featured instruments and effects so you wont need to download any extra plug in devices to fully utilise these packs.
